Participating in yoga has many physical and mental health benefits.  It can improve flexibility, strength, balance, posture, focus, mindfulness, and reduce stress.  Yin yoga classes are great for relaxation, partner yoga is awesome for team-building, and an Ashtanga class is an excellent workout.  There is a yoga for everyone, so try a few different types with your class.

If you are new to yoga, there are some resources below that can be taught regardless of your experience.  You can also find a lot of information and videos online, play a yoga DVD for your class, invite a guest instructor to your school, or go on a field trip to a local studio.  It may also be helpful for you to attend a few different types of yoga classes, attend workshops, or even work towards a yoga teacher certificate.
